Landlord insurance is a crucial aspect of protecting your property investment. Even with the most reliable tenants, unexpected situations such as job loss or health problems can arise, making it challenging for them to meet their rental obligations. With a comprehensive insurance policy, you can have peace of mind knowing that your investment is safeguarded from such unforeseen circumstances.
To ensure compliance with the smoke alarm regulations, our office engages a licensed third-party specialist to carry out the necessary checks and maintenance on behalf of you. This includes testing, cleaning, and checking the decibel readings of the smoke alarms, replacing batteries as required, and inspecting the safety switch. We strongly advise against landlords carrying out these tasks themselves, as most are not licensed or qualified to do so. It’s crucial to take this obligation seriously, as non-compliance could result in severe penalties, including imprisonment if the worst were to happen and the property and/or occupants were to perish.
